The precipitated Carnallite in ponds C -1 to C -11 contains 84% Carnallite and 16% Sodium Chloride. The average thickness of the Carnallite deposit is approximately (30 – 60) cm.
This bed is harvested as a slurry from beneath the brine and delivered to booster pumps on the dikes and then to the refinery through floating pipes.
Eight floating tracked harvesters are utilized to gather the Carnallite. These harvesters are capable of floating in one meter of brine depth and are propelled by means of a four-track system. High technology control equipment using RTK is installed on the harvesters, and provides precise movement for optimum Carnallite recovery.
